Enrollment Guide

 

“Chinese Media-Leader Forum” held by the Far East Academy of Shanghai Jiao Tong University is a non-profit summer school that benefits the Chinese and overseas graduate students majored in journalism and communication. Each year, the forum invites Chinese and international media leaders to have dialogues and communication with students from different universities.

Based on the successful experience of holding the “Chinese Media-Leader Forum” in the past 6 years, the Far East Academy of Shanghai Jiao Tong University will continue to organize the 7th “Chinese Media-Leader Forum” on 13 - 19 July, 2016. The Chinese Media-Leader Forum this year will invite around 30 media leaders and scholars to introduce the experiences in reform and innovation in the media industry for 200 college students from prestigious universities in China and overseas. The invited speakers will give lectures about the revolution and innovation experiences in the media industry, nourishing the students with knowledge about the cutting-edge trend in media industry and research, and deepening their recognition to the media industry and journalism and communication studies.During the activity, series of academic exchange activities will also be held, including the 6th “Global Forum on New Media and Society Development” , the 4th “Forum among Editors of Journalism and Communication Academic Journals” and the 5th “Graduate Student Summer Forum on Chinese New Media and Society Development”. 

1.Prospective Participants

The summer school will recruit master and Ph.D. students, and excellent undergraduate students will be selected to audit the lectures.  

2.Number of Participants

A total of 200 students is planned to be recruited.

3. Application Requirement

(1) Fill in the application form (appendix 2), with signature of the applicant and mentor, and seal of the school.

(2) Submit an innovative and unpublished academic article, with the topic around “New Media and Society”. It is required that the article is noted with “for Chinese Media-Leader Forum only”. Words: 5000-1000. See appendix 3 for detailed requirements.

(3) Undergraduate students can be exempted from this requirement.

4. Participant Benefits

(1) The Chinese Media-Leader Forum is free, but does not cover the eating and accommodation fees. All participants can apply for the graduate dormitory of SJTU.

(2) The forum will provide free study material. All qualified participants will be awarded the certificate of the graduate summer school at the end of the activity.

(3) Participants who submit their academic paper for the 6th New Media and Society Development Graduate Forum will be admitted with priority. Selected papers could be published on the New Media and Society Periodical, or recommended to be published to CSSCI journals.

Manuscript Requirements

An innovative and unpublished academic article is required, titled “New Media and Society”. It is required that the article is noted with “for Chinese Media-Leader Forum only”. Words: 5000-1000.

The manuscript should include the cover letter and the main content.

2016上海交通大学“中国传媒领袖大讲堂”招生简章

 

中国传媒领袖大讲堂是上海交通大学远东书院以公益方式开办的面向上海及全国新闻传播学研究生的特殊“暑期学校”。讲堂每年邀请中外最为顶级的传媒领军人物与全国各大名校新闻学子对话交流。

2016713719日,上海交通大学远东书院将在连续6年成功举办“中国传媒领袖大讲堂”的基础上,继续举办为期7天的公益性“中国传媒领袖大讲堂”暑期讲习班。今年的传媒领袖大讲堂拟邀请30位左右传媒领军人物和专家学者,为来自海内外知名高校的200名学子讲授传媒业改革创新的经验与教训,帮助学子们了解传媒业界和学界的最新发展动态,深化对传媒业和新闻传播学科的认识。活动期间,还将举办“第六届新媒体与社会发展全球论坛”、“第五届中国新媒体与社会发展研究生暑期论坛”第四届新闻传播学期刊集刊主编论坛等一系列学术交流活动。

现将有关事项通知如下:

一、招生对象

本暑期学校招收在读硕士生、博士生。优秀本科在校生可以作为旁听生报名参加学习。

 

二、招生规模

本暑期学校将招收学员200人左右。

 

三、报名要求

1、填写《上海交通大学“中国传媒领袖大讲堂”报名表》(附件2),经学员本人签名、导师和单位领导签章;

2、同时提交观点创新且未经发表的原创论文一篇,需明确标示本稿件“专投中国传媒领袖大讲堂”,主题为“新媒体与社会发展”,字数范围以5000-10000为佳,论文具体要求详见附件3

3、本科生可不提交论文。

 

四、学员待遇

1、本届“中国传媒领袖大讲堂”免收学杂费,学员食宿自理,但可申请入住上海交通大学研究生宿舍。 

2、“中国传媒领袖大讲堂”将为学员提供免费学习资料。学习结束后,成绩合格者将颁发上海交通大学研究生暑期学校结业证书。 

3、提交论文参加中国传媒领袖大讲堂系列活动“第六届中国新媒体与社会发展研究生论坛”的学员优先录取。学员提交的论文有机会收入由中国社会科学文献出版社出版的《新媒体与社会》辑刊等,并推荐到国内CSSCI期刊发表。
